We do not vax for anything, and that includes us humans. No flames form anyone, ok? We research everything, high and low! ( all vaxes are good for only up to 4 years, and up to 50% get the diseases anyways)
We prefer to use probiotics and all natural foods to keep the immune system high, and we have had excellent results with our animals going this route.
Now, I would likely make an exception if we lived in an area that had real problems with Mareks, but to my knowledge, its not an issue up here.

You can certainly get as few as 25.
Let me know by Tuesday? what you decide.

Works for me. I don't vax my dogs either, except the required rabies that I HAD to get when someone reported me for not having a Kennel license, which I didn't know I needed. I've had dogs for 25+ years and never had ANY of the issues with not getting them vaxed.

Anyways, yes I'll take 25 now.

Can chicks be gotten year round?

Do you take paypal?

My hubby does have a paypal account. I'l pm that to you later.
Yes, you can get chicks year round, but I would never have them shipped up here when its cold.
Plus, you would never want to do the cornish in the winter

When we move out next year, I am hoping that no vaxes are required for our 2 cats for crossing the border.
It was bad enough to find out we cannot even bring a full freezer of our own meat over the AlCan.
I was hoping to have plenty of bear meat for our first year out.
Oh well, at least we will get there in time for deer season.

Anyone else want in on the order?
I have one neighbor that will be ordering a bunch as well, so we are looking at close to 150 chicks so far.

I think there are... we had to have shots for the dogs when we came up 10 years ago, I can't imagine that it's become more lenient over time.

Why can't you take your own meat?? They think you're going to sell it or something?

ACK! Why are you leaving Alaska?? lol

Dhs parents are getting older, and have a few health issues.
Dh and I are the only ones that can feasibly move there.
We are unable to have kids, and we are not tied down with fancy jobs and such.
The desire is to also keep the property in the family for as long as possible.
32 acres, and huge gardens. Root cellar. Two lakes. Lots of room and the right terrain to raise goats, pigs and chickens.
No mortgage or rent.
We are actually really excited! It will be a long year, waiting to do this.
Praying that we have a buyer for our house at the right time, as we cannot leave without it being sold first.

I looked at border crossing requirements for food, and you can take a total of 40 pounds of meat into Canada, and it must be a variety of meats.
Frustrating to say the least. I refuse to buy CAFO meat

and am sad about this rule.
I had hoped we could have our chest freezer filled on the trailer, and we would just drive like crazy, only stopping in places where we could plug it in for awhile.

So what state are you moving to? Sounds like a great piece of property wherever it is!

Sucks that you can take more meat with you... stupid actually. Got anyone you can MAIL it to and hold onto it for awhile?? Dunno what the prices would be like for shipping... tho I do know that it can be packed well enough to make it still frozen...or at least crunchy where you can refreeze.

Michigan. I could buy grassfed beef for a fraction of what it would cost to ship our own meat out

We will probably hunt as usual in the spring, and give the excess to church families that need it, come time to leave.
