Hey there so I need help ..it's rough tough time and long story I rescued two baby chicks on Dec 13 ,2020 and it's all fine they were growing active and playing . In January 22 one chick accidentally died by swallowing something we don't know .

His brother is all alone since then , he is not growing , he is all quite and not wanting to play . He just want to sit and sleep . .

I gave him toys , pillows mirrors but none of these stuff working ..week ago he falls from bed and injured his legs since then he's very weak and feels sad all the time ..

I am giving him mashed eggs , Bcomplex , Amino Acids , vitamin E to help him grow but he's not growing not even feathers coming as yet ..could be a runt ..

I earlier raised a runt and all things worked ..but I feel too bad right now seeing my lonely chick not growing he's so sweet 😭

Pls suggest me some ways I can help him grow ..he's poop is normal firm , breathing is lil fast , and his joints are swelled due to Injury from falling from bed on floor

I don't think getting another chick is a good idea. Not that chicks enjoy being alone, but one is dead and the other is fading. No more chickens until they learn how to properly care for them.
:hugsSaainya, get some photos, you mention his legs are swollen. It may be that there's nothing you can do and he may not recover, but I would like to see. A sling is probably a good idea to help take some weight off the legs for the time being until you can make further decisions.

As for making assumptions about an OP, we all have done that. Talking about them like they don't exist is in bad taste. It wouldn't take but a couple of minutes to look at someone's profile or BYC posting history to determine how much experience or proper care a person gives.
Saainya is one of the most caring and passionate people I have met here on BYC.

No one is perfect. Accidents happen. While recovery doesn't sound promising from the description of injury, giving the OP support and constructive suggestions is a better course of action instead of tearing them down further when they are in distress.

This story just makes me sad. These chicks looks like they were dyed pink. I can't imagine chicks meant for dying pink will be the heathiest birds you could get since no responsible chicken person would feel the need to make their chickens attractive for little kids.
Chickens are not good pets that play on beds.
Meh, my post won't change anything but this chick has a broken leg and is lonely.
It won't have a good existence kept as it is.

I second that @Saaniya is a very caring and responsible person. She has a lot of knowledge about chickens and loves her pet roosters. She helps people here on the emergency forum often.

I hope that you can get your rescue cockerel to survive Saaniya. If you could use a mushy chicken feed or mixture that you give your roosters, that might be best. He might have swallowed something similar that the other chickswallowed.

He's eating well and wants to play except his small look , he don't chirp since he's alone he made small sweet voices but not much ..he's overall a very calm chick who loves to cuddle ❤️

I gave him probiotics hour ago in his water will give yoghurt tomorrow and follow other advices . I don't think he need sling he is now walking on his own

Hi I don't dye him lol I also have pet Roosters they also I rescued as dyed .
I live in India , here vendors color male chicks. As chicken keeper I think mostly people know that how much Cruelty happens with male chicks .

And as far as health , many vegan friends of mine have colord chicks and raise them they are all healthy and grown ups .

I personally , thinks that diet and care makes them healthy .

Please don't rescue anymore chicks, you don't know what you are doing. Chicks don't get toys, because they eat dam near anything ,second why would you put a chick on a bed? Do you not know they are fast by nature and now because of your recklessness he will more than likely die just like the other chick. I can't believe you did those things they are not a cat or dog. Find a farm and give them that chick at least he will have a better chance of survival..
Maybe you might want to read this @CHRISTINE BOLES and even apologize to her:

He may enjoy a sibling. If anyone in your area has a chick they don’t need then that’s an option. Otherwise you could try putting him outside with everyone else. It might also be stress. In terms of stress you are doing all the right things. Just make sure he always has access to a clean water supplies. I hope this helps. Wishing him the best :)

Adds some grated carrots with germ oil and it will add essential vitamins and glide down his throat more easily.

Yes I started feeding him some food with oil now he's fine ..and his poop also improved we completed his Bactrim treatment for 3 days and his poop all improved he is also actively chriping except his joints which we now belive that frm his falling accident his tendons are slipped . I searched some of the websites and symptoms matched with slipped tendons .

I also giving him Poultry Tonic that Contains Vitamin D3 , Vitamin E , A , Selenium , B12 I'm attaching the pic maybe this can help his legs . I'm so unfortunate because in my area no one see Poultry in Veterinary Clinics and here Veterinary doctors 90% kill the animals .

So I'm doing everything in home .
