I am new to this chicken stuff....have had our chicks for about a 1-1/2 weeks now. The sign at the feed store said these were Araucanas....but after looking at tons of pictures...I'm not sure. What is your thoughts? They are pale yellow, with a tinge of gray fluff on the back and head. The other breeds we got ( RIR, & Barred Rock) look like the pictures...but not these. ..Sorry pics are so big, photobucket wouldn't let me resize them.

I would guess white rock as well. Standard white araucana are not that common, so I doubt a feed store would have them.

do white rocks have the gray tint to them? When we first got them, they most definitely had gray fuzz on their backs and head.....it is fading as they grow.

Standard white araucana should have yellow legs, not grey legs. White ameraucana have slate legs...which might be what you are referring to.

Most "quality" white variety chicks have grayish or champagne chick down.

This will usually indicate a brighter white on the mature bird, instead of one that yellows.

I agree these are not araucanas, ameraucanas or easter eggers.
