Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Can someone let me know who this bad egg is?  There is someone on FB rare breeds that is advertising blue/wheaten Amerucana eggs on Ebay and I want to be sure to steer away (and have my friends steer away) from the wrong person.  Thanks!
her ebay name is cathy6487. I too have beem hit by her. I'm sorry you didn't get blue ameraucana's. I love my little ee but it sucks when you have your heart set on a ameraucana and are lied to. I think ameraucana's are a harder breed to obtain because of this. And have came to an understanding on why they are so strict on their standards.

Well there may be a few good breeders on Ebay but your best bet if you want REAL AMERAUCANA is go to the Ameraucana Club site and see who has the TRUE AMERAUCANAS.
Check out the Gallery and if the birds do not look like the ones in the Gallery chances are they are not Ameraucanas unless stated by the breeder they are project colors in their add. Like Lavender, chocolate, red pyle, silkier type, ect. If they are Brown Red it will be stated such just don;t go by their pictures. This is a buyer beware market so when ventured into it you need to have the knowledge before you buy.

You can also buy from this website or a Facebook group. I would trust them better than an eBay seller.

Yeah, I think I might put an add up for "eggs wanted" here on BYC. If any of you sell TRUE Blue Ameraucana hatching eggs and would be fine with shipping a small order of six, let me know! I think they're beautiful, and I really want to own at least one or two in the future.

*** That or any little blue cockerel that needs rehoming. My ladies would teach him good manners, and he would be loved for life as long as he didn't turn out to be a monster. Lol

We have BBS Ameraucanas but only ship chicks, not eggs. It took us a long time to find stock that we were happy with and finally have a nice quad!

Check here with Dana, you can message her on FB...https://www.facebook.com/IndigoRidgeFarm

I just bought Wheaten/Blue Wheaten eggs from her. She has Show Quality BBS Ameraucanas and was amazing to work with. She does sell & ship eggs $45 dozen and we are in California; I drove to her to get mine since we are so close. We have one week left in the bator and ours are developing beautifully.

I bought some from Indigo Ridge Farm also. She was very nice and I am happy with the birds that hatched. I found her in the breeders directory on the Ameracauna Breeders Club website. I would suggest buying chicks rather than eggs, I've had some pretty bad luck with shipped eggs. Even when they've been fairly local. Plus if you get chicks, maybe she would send you just blues. If you buy her eggs, you will get BBS. Blues, blacks, and splash. I hatched out 1 blue from her and she's gorgeous. Great conformation. I think anyway, I'm new to AM's!

Any experience with broody Ameraucanas?
I have a 9 month old hen who went broody 2 days ago. This is my first experience with a broody hen. I put her in a large dog crate to keep her out of the nest box. Because it is so cold here in New Hampshire I had to move the crate to our basement so her water would not freeze. She is still puffed out, pulling out her breast feathers, and not eating, or pooping for that matter. What would you recommend beyond what I have done?

She sounds like she's got it bad! My Ameraucana was broody off and on all summer. I too put her in a dog crate with no bedding...she snapped out of it in about 2 days. No problems since. She was not pulling out her own feathers...that sounds extreme.
