Im not so sure thats wrong, theoretically of course.

theoretically you can't get 75% lav chicks...but it is a possiblity to hatch 75% lavs. I would buy a lotto ticket that day also

They might have a lav roo, some lav hens, and some split hens? I don't know how they'd save up enough hatching eggs if they only had one hen.
I'm still bummed about the ration of lav to split. Going to hatch a ton of straight lavs before I get dissappointed by a bunch of black chicks.

All your posts and photos of Lavender Ameraucanas are sooo tempting me, but honestly I have so many blue and blue based colors in my flock already, I don't think I'll go that route.

An isabel pattern, though, would greatly interest me.

I guess I figured that wrong, according to the chicken calculator it would be a 50/50 split of lavender and black/split.

yup 50/50 or 25 black, 50 split and 25 lav if breeding split lavs together

When did your roos start to get their saddle feathers? Mine are 4 months now and the biggest is crowing, but no saddle feathers yet.
They look so pretty against the green clover. I'd love to have some of that in the yard about now. Stupid drought.

They took forever to mature. I can't remember when the roo got saddle feathers but I didn't get an egg for 32+ weeks.

My BBS were mature and laying at 24 weeks. Roos had saddle feathers long before then. Crowing at 8-12 weeks.

Organic free range chickens, fed home made feed, and sprouts....Never been a chemical or commercial feed in them..

Mine are Paul and Angela Smith stock.
