So
They're Easter Eggers. Ameraucanas only come in solid colors
So, If i actually had a black ameraucana rooster and a brown/red hen ameraucana, the colors wouldn't mix, the offspring would be either/or? Just wondering , I doubt I'll ever have real ameraucanas!
Since these aren't ameraucanas they are going to go for sale, then since most likely they won't sell, they will become dinnercanas! Haha :)

Well, as it turns out Silver isn't MY version of a solid color..

Or the red brown..

Or wheaten.. :love

Easter Eggers have been fun birds. They look blue based to me... so should put out some pretty chicks. :bun :pop
Yeah, I'll be adding the little hen to my existing easter eggers and selling or eating the roos, i already have 2 Easter egger roos so i dont need more :)

Technically if bred back to red brown you wold get mostly black birds with "copper" leakage, they WON'T meet the SOP for the Ameraucana breed, but will be a basic representation... so I guess while my first vote was dinnercauna, I might change to EE. They would still sell as pullets or hens in my market for about the same value of $20-30 depending on age. But not likely much value in straight run chicks.

Check out this cool toy! It won't account for color leakage but will give you a good idea.. Ya gotta know what other names the color might be called to sometimes. The second drop down tab is in English.

Real Ameraucana aren't that difficult to come by... you just have to plan ahead and be willing to spend a few more dollars.. :D

Breeders directory from one site, I haven't even checked out the other Am clubs site yet..

My EE cross cockerels were my least favorite so far attitude and maybe dinner wise as well. But still... :drool

Anyways, sounds like you're having a wonderful adventure! :wee

Thanks! I've played around with that site before and felt increasingly stupid as I did, haha! I'll have to give it another go around soon though. :)
I need to try it on an actual computer, before it seemed to have problems on my phone. Its been several months snce i tried it though...

and thanks for the other links too :)
I'll take a look when I can.
As for selling easter Eggers around here, its a farming community, small town, no one wants to pay more than 4 bucks for chicks and 10 for older pullets, im raising some now to 2 months of age in going to try to sell for 15. The mixed pullets are being raised with my autumn meat birds.
