American serama thread!

No disrespect to anyone, but please get a "live" second opinion before culling a bird based on a judgement of a picture. Angles can do strange things when taking pics. They can make a bird look better than it is, or worse than it is. Maybe a 360 video would work, but I wouldn't rely on a judgement from a pic. JMHO
I do not cull any of my birds, they are all my pets. I agree that pictures can be misleading and one shouldn't decide to cull based on opinions from 1 photo.

OK In rebuttal to the comment this person made about going to shows I just finished getting a list of the TT shows AND the TT show in Caldwell Idaho and their names are NOT listed as an exhibitor.

from what I understood was that she purchased her stock from reputable lines, and that some birds that came from her stock (from selling eggs, chicks, or adults) had gone on to win in shows. She never said that she herself participated in showing. That is all I know.

I'm getting ready to put 6 LF partridge cochin eggs in my brinsea! They came in the mail today, I'm letting them rest right now. Good luck! Are you hatching serama eggs?

A dozen seramas, I received in the mail today too! and my pullet bearded bantam cochin has laid a few, so I'll put some of those in! :highfive:

I'm debating tonight or tomorrow morning.

We'll have to post on the cochin thread too :D Best of luck!

Your hens are lovely. They can just as easily as not originated from birds that showed well. :)

Anything new and different will be grabbed & exploited by people, just our nature.

It all depends on what YOU want. I do not breed nor show BUT I go to the shows and talk "shop" the whole day. I remember 5 years ago NO ONE had ever heard of a serama and now everyone wants one (well sorta) .

Here we are at a show in Northern CA. PEENUT is the official ambassador for the state of CA.
Peenut absolutely is a wonderful abassador for the breed! There will never be another like him.
