Thanks! Do you have any chicks hatching?[/quote
I have a hen with three that should be hatching any day now; forgot to write down the beginning date. I won't be keeping hen or chicks. As soon as the eggs hatch they will be going to a new home. It's the hen in my avatar.
Next hatch are my tribble eggs a week from Saturday. My smallest eggs yet are due the same day. And then nothing until we know for sure on our move to TN. We've made an offer on a home near Jackson; we're hoping.
I've been running the incubator dry for a couple of days.
It started at 40% humidity and slowly dropped to 30%.
It got down to low 20's after a day. I opened the lid and let in some moist air.
On about day 16 I'm going to add water by misting the eggs directly.
That's what I did in desperation when hens were hatching in my bone dry room in January.
I wish I had a hygrometer then. I'll bet it was < 10%.
Both hens hatched eggs and it wasn't just low humidity, it was almost NO humidity.
Those birds were Dorothy & her siblings.
I peeked under Gracie this morning & I'm happy & grateful to report that I found two Powder babies & two babies from Worf!![]()

There are 2 eggs left. Neither one has started hatching.
This evening, I'll remove them, give them a little mist and put them on a small rack above the egg turner in my dry incubator, just in case.
Exciting! Wishing you the best!
