Our Anconas were ordered as day olds in June last year and started laying in October. They laid fairly well until about February, then pretty much stopped for about a month and a half.
Last year was our first time ever having ducks, so I don't know if this is typical or not -- just our experience. The first eggs were pullet size & I wasn't sure if one of the chickens had gotten in with the ducks & laid eggs. Some of the ancona eggs will have a grayish/blackish pigment on the outside of the shell -- not all of ours do, though. I've found that the pigment washes off when I clean the eggs. And they will sometimes lay wherever they happen to be at the moment. There are a few favorite communal spots for laying -- often not in the nest boxes we provide!ok so they went from fluffy things to laying in 4 months wow i'm so excited!! i hope mine start laying but my mom's b-day in october she loves duck eggs

We got blues and heavily marked black ones. Wanna try to find a light marked drake later to even out the coloring. Where are you located at?
These are adorable! I am so hoping to get one with an all black bill, I just love how they look. We have 6 Ancona incubating : )
