You probably still can auction them then. After the auction is over, you can ask your winner if they'd like more than 1 bag. If they're local, Im sure they will.

just forget it, we will take it to the auction for a larger profit. Just thought I would let some local members in on a good deal. Im frustrated.

If you prefer those systems, the audience, the prompt support (or lack thereof), and their final listing fees then we definitely encourage you to use them in addition to or in place of our system.

I'm not sure I like the changes.

But like all new things, people resist. I think once this is all working properly and everyone figures it out it may work quite well.

So I will sit back and wait before I decide against it.

It's great you are trying to make changes to make the site better.

But although I don't sell much at this time I will be selling a lot more in the spring. And I will gladly buy the GFM. But even then 10 seems like a low number especially if non-selling listings count.

I hate to think of having to pay for list more than 10 items. When you already have to pay paypal a cut.

The layout looks good though. It just needs a little work and trying out.

Oh one question. Can you make it so more than one picture is allowed. I usually place several photos on my listing.

Or can we post pictures after we create the auction?

Have you tried Craigslist for something like this? I think you'd do great selling these locally. Its not like you can ship them.

we do but i thought i would give people from here first chance, maybe now i cant
just to clarify, i am selling it to local members, not shipping. there are quite a few members in my general area

in your post ya could just have people PM you for more sales?

thanks, but i was waiting for some kind of offical reply
I cant post the item for sale because i cant use the old method but I cant list it with the new auction because nobody can tell me how what I am offereing could be listed. So as I appreciate the suggestions, having no official answer Im sitting here with something to sell and no way to list it. I guess Im unlucky to have picked today to do it.

I personally think that allowing 10 sales to a GFM is plenty and generous, and an idea to offer a 'sales license' (for a fee) to those who wish to sell more than 10 is reasonable.
In reality, Nifty & crew incur expenses related to running the site. While advertising offsets some of those costs, if you're making money on BYC with your sales, it seems reasonable to pay for the service offered if more than occassional use. There's no free lunch in life, and I believe many will understand they are obtaining a valued service. JMHO

I think this is a great idea, but because it just came out, there will still be a few problems that need to be worked out.

Just give it time! Everything on BYC so far has worked flowingly, why would you believe this is going to be any different?

Yes, it is counted against your total. Ebay will charge you if you keep listing items and they don't sell. They just give you one free re-listing (unless their policies changed recently).

The limits are in place for a variety of reasons, but one is to reduce the spam and tons of posts by memebers. We got complaints on a daily basis about how quickly listings were pushed to the bottom of the page.

The current version (again, 1.0) only supports a single item per listing. We may resolve / change this in a future version.

Auctions can't be changed once listed. This is to prevent potential problems with what was listed and what people bid on. This includes auction time.

Sooooo...I just tried a listing and added the wrong link in the picture--so its blank! No pics for me !! Just found out here that you CANNOT edit that part of the auction. So my best bet would be to cancel it and start a new one 'for free' with out losing any of my auctions.....

Also, in trying to figure out what link I put in for the picture, I clicked the back arrow a few times----and there was my listing, so I fixed it an clicked submit again and now I have TWO listings for the same thing. I was just thinking if you are chatting on the forum, I dont think it lets you do this? I think that you cannot click on submit? Anyway, just wanted people to be careful and not waste an auction!
