Yes, it is counted against your total.
Ebay will charge you if you keep listing items and they don't sell. They just give you one free re-listing (unless their policies changed recently).
The limits are in place for a variety of reasons, but one is to reduce the spam and tons of posts by memebers. We got complaints on a daily basis about how quickly listings were pushed to the bottom of the page.

The current version (again, 1.0) only supports a single item per listing. We may resolve / change this in a future version.

Auctions can't be changed once listed. This is to prevent potential problems with what was listed and what people bid on. This includes auction time.
Sooooo...I just tried a listing and added the wrong link in the picture--so its blank! No pics for me !! Just found out here that you CANNOT edit that part of the auction. So my best bet would be to cancel it and start a new one 'for free' with out losing any of my auctions.....
Also, in trying to figure out what link I put in for the picture, I clicked the back arrow a few times----and there was my listing, so I fixed it an clicked submit again and now I have TWO listings for the same thing. I was just thinking if you are chatting on the forum, I dont think it lets you do this? I think that you cannot click on submit? Anyway, just wanted people to be careful and not waste an auction!
