Where do the ovation eggs show up? Just on your own profile? Or somewhere near your name when you post? Reason I ask is, I dont believe i have seen these on anyone elses postings?

At this point you only see it in your own profile; you don't see what others have, and they don't see what you have.

I think they're still trying to decide how to use these, the implications and ramifications, and benefits.

I hope you decide to make them visible, it would help to know how trustworthy someones info is!

OK so ovations are a personal recompense ( probably from a more experienced poster ) for aiding someone to resolve or give ideas as to what to do to help one or other of our chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, guinea fowl etc....

It is not however a recommendation that the person receiving the ovation is correct! A personal experience with a situation that is resolved by an action is not necessarily the way forward for all....

Just my observations...

Also, I would hate to think that somebody would post just to hope to get an ovation to a vulnerable user that is seeking knowledge....

I am not a pessimist... in fact my views are that where there is life there is hope....

I do pm sometimes when I feel that the poster(s) are negative to the plea of a thread starter trying their very best to help an ailing fowl...

There is a limit per 24 hour period, once the clock ticks over you get a new batch.

OK that makes sense, thank you Gargoyle, cause it's been going on and off again. I guess I better use them more judiciously so I don't run out.

I use it when I think the poster makes a good point, instead of quoting and saying 'good post' I just use the thumbs up dealie.

This forum is often more like chat rooms than discussion threads, kind silly - but it is what it is.
