Another newbie question about MHP and chicks

So since i just got my chicks today i have so many questions so please bare with me.

My day old chicks spent all day running in and out from their mhp now it's night and since its gotten dark theyve been under it and quiet. I have it on high(6) . wont they get too hot? Will they stay under it all night? My guess is yes but should i turn the heating pad down a bit? Sorry for the newb ( to chicks anyways not hens) questions...

On the floor under the mhp its 81. On the surface of the heating pad ( so the roof of the little cave) its like 98. Its angled so its about 3 inches from the bottom on the short end and 4 1/2 inch on the taller end

Yes, they will let you know if they're cold. Quiet is the sound of happy chicks.

They will be warm enough. If they need to warm up or cool off they will adjust as the others have said.

That's exactly what you want, for them to quietly settle under there for the night. They'll come out again once morning rolls around.

Mine were shockingly silent all night with the MHP. Occasionally, especially close to their bedtime, I would hear some very soft trills almost like “ahhhhhh yesssss this is cozy.”

Yes ! Thanks everyone!! I turned on my baby monitor app at 7:20 ( im at work) and one by one i watched them pop out from the mhp and drink and eat! Yay! They were quiet all night.
