Any extra advice on owning budgies?

Not sure you are aware of this unusual seemingly harmless activity peeps do daily. Avoid cooking on Teflon or other non stick pottery with birds in home. At certain temperature, the cookware could release harmful content into air.
My DD keeps Lovebirds, and Quaker parrots. Will not chance using the nonstick pots inside home. Takes outdoors and does use pots there on outdoor burners.
Do your own research to confirm, for yourself. Or you may find out otherwise. :idunno

My advice is to keep considering very carefully, owning a parrot (no matter the species) is a huge commitment. They have complex diet requirements, they require more than just a seed mix or pellets for their diets. They can also develop many behavioural problems. Even small parrots, like budgies, can be loud and can bite.

When you say research, could you clarify what you mean? There is a lot of misinformation and conflicting information about parrots. Just wanting to make sure you're getting the right information before making a judgement.

Here's an article that I wrote around a year ago which covers my research and experience about parrot owning.

I would also recommend checking out Birdtricks, if you haven't already. They are professional parrot trainers who have really good advice and resources on parrot training and ownership.
Here's their YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/BirdTricks/featured
Here's their website: https://birdtricksstore.com/
(as well as courses you can buy, they have a bunch of free resources on their website which are really useful).

Hope this is helpful.

Be prepared to do a lot of cleaning if you have them, between the seed husks and feather dander I had to vacuum and wipe the area very often. They almost never poop out of the cage, though. The mess isn’t insane, nothing compared to even the daily shedding of some dogs or cats, but it definitely seems like more than two small birds can produce!
They also have no mess feeders that make it harder for them to fling and waste food, if you encounter that issue.
