Any Home Bakers Here?

@ronott1, I used a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and baking soda as a smell neutralizer. Then, I showered and scrubbed myself with tomato juice. It worked.
I have found that Clorox works well to neutralize the mercaptans in skunk spray. I just add some Clorox to the bath water and also to the washing machine to take care of the clothes.

My son is signing Escrow papers tomorrow for his new manufactured home. I promised the sales guy cupcakes. Here's what I made: hostess cream filled chocolate cupcakes, topped with chocolate ganache and the white swirl and chocolate cupcakes with cream cheese frosting in two colors. I was in a hurry to get this done and it's very poorly done and quite messy. I'm close to being ashamed, but it's ok, they will taste great!

They're pretty, nice job!

I KNOW how to boil eggs....I am having problems peeling the
eggs. My 5 chickens did not lay eggs..until NOW and NOW they
are really laying. Made egg salad....and had a time peeling them and a lot of the whites....were still attached to skin. I recently
saw at neggmaker.com $17.95 (they have on Amazon of course).
Does anyone have suggestion? And I have tried the spoon all
around. And I did cool in ice water. etc. Anyone had experience
with the neggmaker> seems pricey to me?????? Help needed.

Older eggs peel better. Or, put them in vinegar.

Instant pot or other pressure cookers work great for hard boiling eggs.

Definitely into the ice water after cooking too

I’m probably going to try this today. It’s cornbread without the cornmeal.

Ingredients

  • 1 (15 ounce can) no salt added corn
  • 1/2 cup skim milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt (I didn’t add any because I was just going to be drowning the cornbread in my chili)
How-To

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Spray an 8″ x 8″ non stick pan with canola oil. Set aside.
  3. In a bowl, combine the corn, milk, eggs, butter, and sugar. Beat until combined.
  4. Add in the baking powder and stir until combined.
  5. Add in the flour. Stir until combined.
  6. Bake for about 25 minutes, until the top is golden brown and a cake tester comes out clean.
  7. Cut and serve with your favorite soup or chili!
