A 2-y-o Duckling was a little too eager to eat one of our ducks.

First duck of the season! Have any of you guys ever cook duck before?

@R2elk I just finished getting the fat out of it, and I'm going to cook it tonight for dinner. Do you happen to know how long you cook it per pound and at what temperature?

It's a pretty small hen. 2 lb empty weight.

I found a no knead roll recipe from January of 2019 that has the same ingredients and similar instructions.

A recipe that is a work in progress:

Jared's duck noodle soup:

One whole duck ( store-bought or Wild)

Salt

Egg noodles

Water

Step one: preheat the oven to 350. Roast the duck in the oven for 30 minutes per pound, or until internal temperature is 165.

Step 2: after the duck is done, cut meat off the bone. Save the carcass and bones! Set the meat aside.

Step 3: boil the carcass, bones and all, in water for 20 minutes. Add salt to taste for the duck stock.

Step 4, boil the noodles in the duck stock, add diced duck meat.

Enjoy!

Any ideas to help improve my recipe will be appreciated. It's already delicious the way it is.

Where are the veggies? It ain't soup without veggies... maybe some diced carrots, onions and mushrooms would be good in there.

According to regulations, you are only allowed seven ducks in a day. No more than two can be female mallards.

What I got was a female mallard.
