I don’t know if anyone else hates paying for colored sugar, but I am not into paying the $3 for a 3oz. jar. So today I’m making colored sugar. You can just shake together sugar and food coloring, but I hate the clumps, so I am putting it in the oven for the five minutes it takes to warm up to 170* (the lowest my oven goes). It dries out, and doesn’t get hot enough to melt.
