You can take it out of the freezer, remove it from the container and cut/saw it into manageable portions, repackage and put back into the freezer until wanted.

If you don't have a meat saw to cur it with, you can wash a hacksaw blade and use the hacksaw to saw it into portions.

Would have been a lot easier if I'd just been thinking at the time. A "DUH" moment for sure. :gig

That sounds about right! DH always wants chili on Super Bowl Sunday! I’ll send him down! :lau

We'll have plenty, you come too. The guys can eat all the chili they want and we can chat chickens!

You did the smart thing, you froze your soup in several containers.

I don't know what I was thinking with the chili leftovers from DH's last bathtub batch of it. I dumped it all in one giant container and now there's a frozen block of about 2 gallons of chili in the freezer. Maybe if I pull it out of the freezer today, it will be thawed enough to eat around February.

I love pressure canning. Chili is the actual reason I have one. No defrosting, I can store it anywhere, and canned food travels well. I brought turkey broth to Thanksgiving a few years ago for easier gravy making.
@BullChick I would love to see a video of you pressure canning chili with a toddler! I ran across something you wrote about cooking with a toddler and it cracked me up! I was trying to vacuum the other day with my 2 1/2 year old grandson attached to the hose!
