Any Home Bakers Here?

I am thinking of making the Cheddar Bread recipe that @ronott1 posted (it is in the index).
BUT, I don't have buttermilk at home.
Does anyone else substitute regular milk mixed with a tablespoon of acid (lemon juice or vinegar) for buttermilk in recipes?
Not quite the same as buttermilk, but it works in a pinch.

I rarely have buttermilk at home. So that's what I do, add white vinegar to milk. Seems to work fine!

Unless you make your own, you can't get real buttermilk anymore. The butter making process has been so refined that there just isn't any butter left in the waste milk now.
