Any Home Bakers Here?

Sounds so easy and good. Thanks for recipe.

I haven't made it yet this year but I do recall making a minor adjustment or two (I think I still added the egg to keep it cake-ier and I may have doubled it to fill the bundt pan).

If you make it, I hope you enjoy it!

@Alice28
, Are you near San Antonio?  Just asking because we have a big Turkey Trot 5K run/walk here.

I don't particularly like turkey either, but we often have a ham too so I eat that.  Our family is large and we need both!  There's my parents, me, my four siblings, and at least four aunts and uncles who do Thanksgiving together.  The rest of the clan lives up in New York, so they don't get to come.

I'm in Northern California. I think turkey trots are getting more popular. I've heard of a few places that have them. I'm glad there is someone else who doesn't care for turkey out there. My husband is somewhat indifference so he doesn't mind doing something else. We've done a roast one year and chicken. We will probably do chicken again this year.

I love sliced turkey on top of southern dressing, topped with non-giblet gravy and loads of cranberry sauce.

Or just eat the whole pumpkin pie by myself...

Anyone do breakfast casseroles? Never have before, but made it twice this week. Got the idea from someone on forums. Made mine with mildly hot sausage & eggs. Very good, but filling.

Sign me up for some of that!!! Ok, I'm hungry for Thanksgiving now.

We don't have breakfast casseroles but sometimes we'll do breakfast burritos. For the past few months we've been happily stuck on grit bowls. Put cooked grits (Jim Dandy brand please) in a bowl, top with sausage pieces or bacon pieces, top with a scrambled egg then sprinkle cheddar cheese on top. Oh my, we do love a grit bowl, lol.

Quote: I cook my pie pumpkins similarly to the way I do my Squash:

Cut in half (Stem down to bottom). Scoop out seeds. Oil the flesh (Salt and pepper if desired). Place cut side down on a parchment covered baking sheet. (It pretty much steams it's self) Bake 350 for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Cool, and scoop out the flesh.

Easy peasy. The shell pretty much falls away when you scoop all the good stuff out. Put it in a food processor for a whirl and it is pretty much ready to go then. Just use like it came out of a can after that. Add your spices and stuffs. :p
