I use white granulated sugar in the cookies.



Forgot to add the finished result quote, but he did very well! His bread and rolls look delicious. Way to go Grammy, keep it up and you'll have more help in the kitchen! And he's learning things that will come to good use when he's an adult :)

For a really dark sugar taste, muscavado sugar is fun to try. Look for it at an ethnic store

The closest thing to an ethnic store around here is an asian gift store that sells a few food things (like pre-packaged treat stuff). I think the only reason the gift store is still in business is because the owners have a lot of commercial buildings they rent out.

I'm lucky if I can find the ordinary grocery stuff at our 2 food stores. :rolleyes:
