Any Home Bakers Here?

Shredded cheese often has starch mixed into it so the the cheese does not stick together.

Luckily I still have hand strength to shred cheese!
Starch isn't so bad. Remember when it was discovered some mfgs were using sawdust in their cheese? My personal favorite was a commercial saying "Now with Real Cheese!". What on earth were they using before that?!!

I know! The sawdust was added fiber!

The starch in the cheese can make some recipes not as creamy when melting and it can make the cheese not melt well.

It is very convenient though and works well for most things. I might start using it more especially for taco night!
 
Parm is easy to grate, mozzarella not so much.

I mentioned this about a week ago but finally found a picture. My favorite bake ever!
Amazing! I wouldn't ever have thought to do something artistic by shaping bread other than round or long.
