Any Home Bakers Here?

yes they are so adorable. our drake was hit by a car last autumn. The lady was so upset! She was show duckquality as was the male. Not a good mother though... we brought her to a white call duck hatchery (don’t know if it’s the good term, a man who has2 types of ducks which he selects and breeds to keep a line of the best quality of ducks) she was in a show last januari and won first price! Now she has provided new blood in the white callduck population from this man. In autumn we get two of his ducks back. One offspring of ours and one unrelated ☺

I prefer to call ducks with a duck call. Little joke there.

What is a callduck, anyway?

Today’s basic sandwich sourdough looks better than last time. Probably the fresh yeast. Anyhow Penny Jo wanted to be in the pic too so there she is standing proudly next to the loaf she leavened! View attachment 2181913
Neat photo. Nice looking Bread and Penny Jo is looking real healthy.
Thanks for sharing. I am doing something new: I usually bake two loaves and place them in a LARGE Turkey Roasting Plastic Bag...place
a wooden Tool to hold the plastic up away from the loaves...then seal
the Bag. It makes a cozy Proofer and the loaves really rise. Aria
