Any Home Bakers Here?

Thanksgiving 1.JPG

We are not going with new this year. We are having German's Chocolate cake instead of pumpkin pie thiugh.
I looooove German chocolate cake. I used to work in a bakery that made the coconut pecan frosting with heavy cream instead of the traditional canned milk and it was like caramel... I wish I had that recipe, but it was lost when the bakery closed. I hope yours turns out perfect for Thanksgiving!!!

Now for reality. The pumpkin pie that got nixed because we have a pumpkin roll is being requested. Also, the cinnamon rolls I was told not to make are wanted. The dishes from yesterday? Not done like I was promised they would be.
Yup, it’s a holiday, and this is normal stuff.

There is a cream of anything recipe in the index. It is gluten free.

Homemade Condensed, Cream of "Anything" Soup.

Author: This Old Gal Recipe type: Condiment Cuisine: American Serves: 10 oz

Ingredients

1 cup Cold Milk
2 Tablespoons Cornstarch 1½ Tablespoons Butter
1 teaspoon Chicken Bouillon (or any flavor you like)
½ teaspoon Sea Salt Dash of pepper

Instructions

In a small saucepan, whisk milk and cornstarch until well blended.
Stir in butter, bouillon, salt, and pepper.
Heat to a boil, stirring frequently.
Simmer on low for one minute more to thicken.

Notes
Use in recipes to replace one can of condensed cream of soup. Add in chopped fried mushrooms or celery for different versions of condensed cream of soup.

I have a similar recipe that can be made ahead and stored in an airtight vessel.

When needed you just have to put a certain amount of powder and add water then cook.
