Any Home Bakers Here?

This is Jenny, my new dog-shaped companion.

I'm looking for a way to give my peach cobbler a bit of a boost and I'm thinking of adding some kind of peach liqueur to the filling. I HATE artificial peach flavoring/peach candy flavor with a passion... does anyone have any recommendations for a liqueur or maybe schnapps that has more of a ripe fruit flavor? I use nutmeg in the topping and lots of really high fat butter with just a little cinnamon in the filling so that the peach flavor can really shine.
A little amaretto can go a long way, that almond flavor really adds flavour

Had my family here for 2 weeks, and now am making „rounds“ , first my 89 year old parents in law , then I went to the hospital, will get my first hip replaced on the last day of August, will probably be out of commission for a few days 😥 , right now I am visiting my 81 year old aunt and on the weekend I’ll be visiting my cousin on her 50. birthday, and then it’s back home, getting everything ready for 4 weeks of absence 😬 6 days hospital and 3 weeks of rehabilitation

Butter was in short supply during Christmas , prices went through the roof with 4€ for 1/2 pound of butter, it is still pricey (about 2.5-3 €) but not as bad as in the winter
My experience is that butter freezes well. I only buy it when it is on sale and store it in the freezer. It would take at least several years for a butter shortage to affect me.

Fall baking season usually sees sales on baking components including flour and butter.

Thanks, Ron, will do ... next time! Tonight I did add a little flour and also let the KA knead it about 10 min ( just as an experiment) to turn it into more of a cohesive dough. It's in the fridge for overnight and we'll see how it turns out in the morning. Oh, and it's about 1/3 whole wheat, also. I think I may bake it in my old Dutch oven, too. Just for grins. ...oh, and hey! I ordered and got my very own lame. And wow, that blade is way different from a regular razor blade! It is SOOO THIN! Really gives the sharp cuts. It was well worth the $4 from Amazon. Every serious bread baker should have one. But be careful, it is SHARP!
I purchased the bread pans for a bakery going out of business YEARS AGO.
Love them.

:hugs Aww, L8, sorry about your doggie! I had my Gracie (Sheltie) put down just a few weeks ago ... it's hard, even when you know it's the best choice for our dear old friends. We just love them so much.View attachment 3598824

Thanks.

I'm so sorry about your friend, just keep your chin up.
