Any Home Bakers Here?

I reactivated my sd, during Christmas, I was too busy to bake a bread 🤪 I was worried it wouldn’t be active anymore

But, it was still alive and kicking 😅

Right now I’m planning for April Fools’ Day 2025. You all know I am a practical joker.

I didn’t get to do a practical joke on April Fools’ Day last year because my mom went to the hospital for pancreatitis. I’ve been planning something big this year to make up for it.

Today, I finally found what I’m going to do for April Fools Day 2025, and it is baking related.

I’ll just say that this dessert is courtesy of the feral cats.

Jared this is ... diabolically hilarious! Be sure and let us know how it goes!

Baking experiment:

I’ve seen my Dutch oven formula work well in summer, but I’ve never seen it work in the middle of winter. So, that’s what I’m trying today. I’m gonna see if I can bake something in the Dutch oven with my formula on a cold winter day.

According to my formula and today’s current temperature, I need 36 coals. It seems like a lot, but I’m gonna see if my formula is accurate for all seasons.

I’m trying to make a chocolate cake.

I will let you all know how it goes.

I just made a new recipe. It is absolutely delicious to me. It was something I quite literally threw together at the last second with what I had on hand. Fortunately, I remembered the ingredients.

This recipe is a work in progress. I am writing it based on memory.

Jareds Pasta

Ingredients:

1 package Angel hair pasta
3 king trumpet mushrooms
1 golden oyster mushroom cluster
soy sauce (quantity not measured.)
Sesame oil (quantity not measured.)
1/4 cup white wine
2 tsp minced garlic
1 tsp ginger powder
1 cup chicken stock
One 8oz can tomato sauce
1 tsp cornstarch
1/4 cup water
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

Prepare angel hair pasta according to package directions. Set aside.

Finely chop king trumpet and golden oyster mushrooms, discarding inedible parts. Set aside.

Bring soy sauce and sesame oil to a simmer. Add white wine, garlic, ginger and mushrooms. Sauté until mushrooms are done.

Add chicken stock and tomato sauce and mix together.

Mix cornstarch and water and add to mushroom mixture. Simmer until thickened.

Add mixture to the pasta and stir. Serve.

Let me know what you all think of this recipe idea, it is delicious to me.

Maybe next time I’ll add garlic and white wine.

ETA: I just made it better, so I am amending the recipe.
