Pan Sobao

ingredients
1/4 cup warm water
1 cup milk
1/4 cup butter-flavored Crisco Butter
1 egg beaten
1/4 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon salt
3 1/2 cups flour Blanca "All-Purpose" or bread flour
1 tablespoon yeast
4 tablespoons Hudgson Mill Vital Wheat Gluten

instructions
The breadmaker or "bread machine" pour the ingredients in the order listed. This means the bottom liquids and solids above. Thus when the machine begins the process of making the dough ingredients were mixed uniformly.
To make the dough you must press the button that says "dough" or mass in your machine [machine only prepares the dough] After the machine finishes preparing the dough "about an hour and a half depending on the specifications of it, you take out the dough.

Pour some flour on the counter area and amaze the masses for a minute more. Cut dough into 2 pieces and shaped loaf of bread or bread roll. In a baking tray place the 2 pieces of loaf and let rise about 30 minutes or until the desired size. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes.

Notes
Important to accelerate the bread rise my recommendation is to cover the loaves with a towel, and place the tray in a hot area.
** You can use a Hot Pad Heat Pad or below the tray that heat **.
If you wish, you can also make smaller rolls for a meal, this recipe makes about 12 bread rolls.
Approximate time for the preparation of the Pan Sobao 3 hours.

this is not my recipe but the original one was in spanish. this is the site i got it from http://sazontaino.com/pan-sobao-puerto-rico/
i did tweak it a little i didnt use the wheat gluten because i cant find it in the stores here but i dont think it made a difference. also i added two teaspoons of honey to help with the sweetness and i let it rise for about 2 hours instead of thirty minutes. all in all it turned out great. oh and i also went by ronott1 directions for the yeast preparation. i also didnt use a bread machine i used my hands to mix everything.

The spelt bread is very tasty! It has a mild wheat taste to it. The bread is my white bread recipe that is in the index on the first post, with freshly ground spelt( I ground 1 cup of berries--makes a couple of cups of flour) and raw sugar for the sweetener.
I am no bread maker and I have bread envy, nice looking loaves. Maybe one day I will conquer bread making. The issue is we like to eat sprouted grain bread as it digest easier not sure about how to do that, have never even looked into it. Guess I got my work cut out for me.

Wheat berries and the spelt I have will do that. Sprout them and add them to the bread. Start with a cup and see how it goes.

I have made rolls using 7 grain cereal. I it very tasty!

I'm not going to give up my bread machine, but thinking about only letting it do the mix and rise on dough cycle. It cannot hold a candle to a real bread pan baking.

Sorry I haven't been on this thread much this past week, everyone. I've been quite busy. I really haven't done to much baking lately. On Saturday I peeled bunch of apples so my sister could make apple crisp, then I decided to peel some more apples so I could make apple muffins for breakfast. The muffins were pretty good, maybe 3 1/2 out of 5 stars. They were nice and hearty because they used wheat and white flour, but they really didn't have to much of an apple flavor. :/ If I made them again I'd probably add more apples, and make a crumble topping for them, that would make them absolutely delectable.
