When Mom went back to work, I started making the weekly bread and My Brothers and Sister each took turns cooking Dinner. It was good for Us and we are all very good cooks.

and will make this New Recipe for them
next week and mail...
How far away do they live??

My step-mom doesn't bake homemade bread, heck I didn't until I was in my 30's.
I was in my 60's (ouch, hurts to say that). Of course I'll have to make more than the 2 loaves I made last week before I can really say I started.

I was 12 when I started baking bread
Overachiever! Sounds like you, your brothers and sister were a great benefit to your mother and your families have benefited from your early start.

One of my Uncles had a hard time taking care of himself when his Mom, my Grandmother went on a trip. He could only fry eggs! and came down with an ulcer.

Mom said that none of her son's would be in that position and made us learn how to take care of ourselves. The three of us boys are the main cooks now too!

Ron, sounds similar. Mom insisted I would be independent, and had me cooking full meals when I was 7. But I didn't try baking until I was in my 40's...
