Be careful if you use a Mandolin...I lost a big slice of my thumb to one of those using it at work.

Smoking them sounds interesting!
Oh boy, those things are a bit scary. I've had one forever but rarely use it. I bet that one hurt :(

Could be tasty? I've been having fun with the smoker my husband bought this spring.

You guys are scaring me haha :oops: I do have some new knives on the way that I bought for my husband. I supposed I could use the guard on the mandolin and throw the chunks that are left in the pot for jelly.
 
Thank you guys for the advice and tips. I might try both core in and out, because they apples are quite small. Maybe a mandolin to slice?

Yes a mandoline. It’s the beat way to get consistency so everything dries at about the same rate. I gotta say it’s an awesome kitchen tool
