    If I build an 8x12 coop, how many chickens can that house comfortably?

    our's is about that size actually too...oh gosh, dh will just die if i get more than the 8 we already committed to..LOL

    8 by 8 will hold 16 chickens at 4sqft pre bird.or 20 at 3sqft pre bird.

    a good rule of thumb is 4 square feet indoors and 10 square feet outdoors for each chicken.
