Any legit work at home jobs?

I did actually have a couple of decent homeworking jobs. The first was for a very well known search engine. I signed a confidentiality agreement with them so I can't go into details but it wasn't rocket science and was good pay. You could pick your own hours too. That lasted for 10 months. Once your are done, you are done, they do not renew any contracts.

The second job I had was doing e-commerce research for a start-up company. That was a 3 month contract on full time hours. Both these jobs were obtained through a recruitment agency. I believe this is the best (possibly only) way to get a legitimate work from home job. I am still registered with them but they have not had any more at home jobs since the e-commerce one finished (last summer) so they are hard to come by and obviously lots of people apply for each position but they are out there. Hope this helps. Best of luck!

What about being a secret shopper..

I dont know how to do it.. I cant find the right information.. Or run into the scam ones..

I do know that out there some where there is a real secret shopper thing.. Because my husbands work gets at least one secret shopper a month.. I dont know if the chain sets it up. Or if these secret shoppers go to other businesses in town???

I would like to know a real source for this.. Im interested in a free meal for giving them details on the service...

....

I have REALLY been looking into the "work from home" options, and the short answer is: There are some legit opportunities out there, but a GAZILLION scams for each "real" job. And competition is really tough for the legit jobs that have reasonable to decent pay.

There are some decent informational websites, oh and of course FAR MORE "not so decent" ones that want $$ for info, or have an agenda (like obtaining your money), or make a lot of false promises... It's actually quite disheartening

.

One website I like that doesn't SEEM to have ulterior motives is "WAHM dot com" (stands for "Work At Home Moms"). Some decent ideas and networking from what I see.

Some rules of thumb:
- If it seems too good to be true, then it is.
- You should never have to pay anyone to work for them.
-You should never have to pay anyone for lists of employers or job opportunities.
-"Real" work from home jobs require just as much effort/concentration as outside employment, anyone who offers "really easy" jobs for good pay is probably full of poo.
-"Real" work at home jobs usually require resumes & qualifications.
- Be suspicious of ANY job that primarily advertises as "WORK FROM HOME"... Most of the "good" jobs do not need to advertise as such; the "work at home" or "telecommute" aspect is probably in the job description, but *not* generally the first thing listed. !!

Sorry, not trying to be negative... there are DEFINITELY ways to make $$ from home, and definitely some legit companies out there, but it just pays to be really, really careful...

(edited for misspelling the website name, oops!!)

I sew and sell things. I make girls dresses, saddle blankets, and boutique bows. I do embroidery. I sell plants and eggs from my chickens. I sell driftwood and some of my extensive native american artifact collection. We go out on outings almost every weekend during warm weather and treasure hunt. So fun and people will pay good money for unique driftwood pieces. My husband builds grapevine wreats, I decortate them and we sell those. Mainly to our local florist but he just buys the raw wreath and does his own decorating. My husband builds rustic log furniture out of wood cut down in our own woods. We sell those. I sell our feathers from our macaws when they drop. People pay huge money for their feathers..blows my mind still.

It doesn't make a fortune but it sure helps bring in extra money and every little bit helps around here

Get creative.

My main source of income is training horses though.

The answer is no, unless you are me. I make bird houses, planters, bird feeders, garden benches, etc etc out of cedar. Then I target the rich people. I do this all at home and I make a fine living at it.

This coming spring I will be adding fresh vegetables to my "for sale" list.

I work at home, But that is because I Manage a Self storage and live on-site, My office is literally the next room over, I have a door in my living room that leads to a seperate room that has it's own customer entrance too, so I can be in my kitched doing dishes, hear the door chime and know to go to my office.
But these jobs are hard to come by, and you ahve to be willing to live in the house provided. But you do get Free rent and Utilities, along with a salary and bonuses, it's awesome if you can get over working daily with people who love to gripe.

My mother-in-law managed a Best Western on-site for years too, and I've stayed at several B&B where you were renting the back cottage for 150-200/night. They are advertised as honeymoon love shacks for romantic weekends.

I tried doing the whole secret shopper thing, but I live in such a rural area, I had to drive a good distance to the places, so it wasnt worth it for me. I know theres some local, but I couldnt find them.
I've been thinking about taking courses for medical billing, but right now we really cant afford to send me back to school with the way things are.
I wouldnt mind doing something with kids, but we have so many daycares in our small town, I dont think I would get enough kids, plus we are re-doing our house, so its not very kid safe or friendly.
