I did actually have a couple of decent homeworking jobs. The first was for a very well known search engine. I signed a confidentiality agreement with them so I can't go into details but it wasn't rocket science and was good pay. You could pick your own hours too. That lasted for 10 months. Once your are done, you are done, they do not renew any contracts.
The second job I had was doing e-commerce research for a start-up company. That was a 3 month contract on full time hours. Both these jobs were obtained through a recruitment agency. I believe this is the best (possibly only) way to get a legitimate work from home job. I am still registered with them but they have not had any more at home jobs since the e-commerce one finished (last summer) so they are hard to come by and obviously lots of people apply for each position but they are out there.
