Anybody hatching around March 7th? PICS page 9,18

It's really hard to find something used. I got lucky and found a guy on Ebay that was selling four LG incubators that had been used as a demo or something, had never been hatched in.
Got it for $34. Now THAT was a good deal. Seems to work well too.

Ok guys, It's day 22 and I have to live babies who hatched all by themselves.

I have 2 dead in the shell. They appear to have suffocated. I should have poked ahole last night but I second guessed my self!!!!!

Well, at least two of them are kicking. But I won't wait next time.

Next hatch is the 11th! Got 8 eggs going in. The another small hatch on the 12 - 3 more eggs on that one.

Fingers crossed:fl

Wow, this is the weirdest hatch. This is Day 22, and I STILL have eggs just pipping.

24 chicks are out so far, and I've lost two who pipped and then died. Of the chicks who've hatched, I have:

BC Marans
Marans/Orpington crosses
Buff Orpingtons
EE/Marans crosses
Bantam Cochins (regular and frizzled)

And a few assorted bantams that I can't identify yet--the shells were marked, but I wasn't home when most of them hatched. The only one I can identify is the first one who hatched on Day 20--it's a Top Hat!

One Marans egg that didn't show any activity, I cracked open, and it was just yolk.

Oh, that's great Ninja!

Sorry Kendall, that's hard.

One of the chicks is dead in the shell, after zipping. I saw some dripped down yolk coming out of the bottom, so I am not sure what happened.

One baby zipped all the way, but was unable to get the membrane to let her out. As everyone else was hatched, except for the one dead in the shell, I felt okay opening the incubator to see what was going on. I pulled a bit of the shell off where it was very loose, and wrapped her in a wet washrag. I put her back in and am hoping for the best. She is still peeping. Yesterday she pipped a fairly large hole and was able to zip herself today, but just wasn't able to get out of that membrane. I hope I did the right thing, but time will tell. All other 8 chicks are running around like crazy wobbly fuzzy-kins in the brooder.

Finally I have 2 who pipped the air cell...these are slow this time! Some of the others I wasn't so sure about look ok now, so hopefully they are all just slow!

Maybe I need to turn up the hatcher temp a little for the next time...
