anybody raise sprouts to feed the chickens?

Well I finally found a place to buy forage oats for sprouting!

Went to Tractor Supply for some shavings for the coops. They have bags
of PlotSpike Forage Oats for seeding plots for deer for 19.99 for 50 lb bag.

I cleaned out our coops and the shavings were piled in the burn pile, I guess I got enough dirt and excess spilled seed that there was TONS of wheat/Oat sprouts, the girls found them and cleaned them out.

Karen, was that the TSC in Latrobe? I ask because I see you're up in Ligonier (I live in Pleasant Unity). I have to get a bunny cage from them later on this week, so I may get a big bag of oats then.

ok so my girls dont like soybean sprouts. I have another batch in work, so maybe they will like those better.
They seem to like the wheat and rice berries more before they have a lot of sprout. about day 3, not so much at day 4

I am getting the hang of this sprout thing!

I threw a cup of lentils in some water about 5 hours ago and they've already started sprouting. yay! I cannot wait to see how the chooks take to them!
