Anyone Collect Antiques? (Pics)

thank you Imp! Actually the "table" is an old piano stool, someone sanded the top so much that the points of the screws are slightly sticking out the top of the seat. I tried it out - not that bad

I'll fix that somehow and cover it with a hooked chair pad. I like the feet too, they look they eagle claws holding a crystal ball.

After I posted the pic of the grandfather clock I noticed the toilet

Wow this a GREAT thread. unfortuneately I dont have a working camera right now but I love antiques. I have a antique real wood dresser and mirror that weighs a TON that we just inherited from grandmother who passed. I also collect copper decorative wall hanging cake molds, I only have few so far because I only buy the unique ones I come across. I also collect Internaltional Silver company or Oneida Sterling silver peices that have original trademark stickers. The rest of what i collect is glass. Blenko (Colbalt, Amber, crackle, quilted), glass paperweights (the round and egg shaped ones with designs on the inside) Antique decanter sets, Very old colored bottles, wine bottles, or antique aniversary whiskey company bottles, and Antique Avon glass. etc. I also love collecting old utensils and pots, crocks and bowls that are still in great shape.

Sissy, you'll have to check your local yellow pages for clock repairs, or google for someone in your area. For a grandfather clock they will come to your house to do the repair, so there's cost in that too, but well worth it especially if the grandfather clock means a lot to you.

My grandfather clock needs to be repaired, it bongs & chimes fine but the hands need adjustment - they keep falling down to read 7:30 while it's chiming 10:00

I never look at it for the time anyway, I go by the sound

The green one is Rebbecca of Sunnybrook Farm. No real publication date but the copyright is for 1903
The gold one is Columbus Series. No publication or copyright date. Only date I could find in it was 1850. Published by International Book Company in New York

My Great Great Grandmother's bed. It is a 4 poster canopy bed, but I have taken off the canopy and the end posts. I'm guessing is it early 1900's maybe.
Stella is not an antique though, she is just shy of a year old.

oh, I also have a hand-stitched mink(maybe) Asian quilt. My grandfather was in WWII in the Navy and brought it back with him from somewhere. It is too heavy to really carry so it is now currently stored in our basement. we also have an old refrigerator/icebox that we sanded down and painted. It is now for storage in our kitchen.

I have a few antiques, but most I ended up with because people were throwing them out! I have an antique sewing machine, which was being used as a TV stand before it was to go in the garbage! And I also have antique school chair/desk, which someone sold to me for 20$. And a good friend of my mothers also gave me a 1972 Standard book of perfection for poultry a few years back.
