probably wont do anything till morning guess i wont sleep cool.

LOL I'm joining you in the not sleeping thing because the fifth and last living chick is out! Five after a spike of 134. I'll take it and be deeply pleased. They're peeping their little fool heads off in there now. Only one other was fully formed and close, the other egg looks to have quit shortly after the spike, like most of the others.

All appear to be blue silkies. Now let's hope for pullets.

Umm, I am wondering...
If all my eggs were supposed to be Buff Cochins, why is my first hatcher big & yellow with orange feet, and my second chick much smaller and darker with pink feet? The little guy seems much frailer too, poor thing!

How long does it take for them to fluff up and get their sea legs? It's painful to watch them flailing around in there!

ps- we now have 7 pipped, plus the two hatchlings!
This is so cool!!!

Patty - maybe the mailman was a silkie??? Stuff does happen. Might surprise you though and grow like a weed, I had a few who did.

Congrats to everyone for all the pipping, zipping, peeping and hatching!

As they dry it looks like three blues, one light blue/possible splash, and a possible black. All doing well.
