Anyone want to lose some weight too? So I'm not starvin' by myself?

Maybe if you lay low on the weights or whatever and start walking or running, anything that gets your heart rate up will help burn the fat. After you loose the weight then you can start on muscle building. Hope this helps!

Dont forget PP to take fat grams into the equation. Your caloric goal is awesome so now figure out what you want your fat intake to be. I recommend (and I am so not a qualified expert) no more than 30-35 grams daily. Watch the fat grams and see if that helps today.

I did the calorie counting before because I'm goin to be honest I like to eat and have to have my mexican once a week.LOL so I never did pay attention to the fat intake. I lost from 208 to 185 in a couple months just doing that no exercising or anything Eating a honey bun for breakfast, still eating out (which we do alot of) I ate most of my calories during the day in the week and didn't eat much of the afternoon. Then the weekends I'm bad about only eating once a day so I ate all my calories normally in one meal..LOL I kept the weight off too after i stopped. I can eat about 2000- 2100 calories a day to maintain my weight. Big dummy me got some diet pills and tried them about a month ago and I couldn't stand the way they made me feel, so I quit and guess what they messed me up and I started gaining so I gotta get my metabolsim back right..

Im thinkin of getting a wii and the wii fit bundle to start doin also

OK guys I am right here with ya. I am shooting for losing 80 pounds but I am going to aim for 20 pound goals. To think I need to lose 80 pounds is just a little overwhelming so I'm going for smaller more manageable goals. I lost 20-25 pounds this past year and managed to keep it off so I'm hoping I can bump it up a notch this year.

PP I got a WII for x-mas with wii fit plus and I love, love, love it. I bought the EA sports active for it also. It's cool to track your progress with the wii fit and the ea sports active has a 30 day challenge that I am starting today. Good luck to everyone. Hopefully we can all get a little healthier this year. I am cheering for all my locals..........TennesseeTruly, PamperedPoultry, and CamelotFarms. You go girls!!!!

I try to work out in the morning and evening. This time of year I use dvds/vhs tapes( Biggest Loser dvd's, tae bo, Tony Horton Power 90, Slim in 6, Turbo Jam etc) but when Spring hits then I like to take long walks or short jogs here and there. I think as long as everyone eats right and trys to get at least 30-60 mins of heart elevating activity in daily then you will lose. The main thing is, how you feel. I never use the scale. I judge my progress by how I feel and how the clothes fit.
I may have to try the wii fit. It sounds as though alot of people enjoy it!
 
I tried the dance dance revolution, but no matter how 'perfectly' I did it, it was like "nope, you suck"... and then I kicked it and threw it in the attic... that was the year before last? anyway, if it makes me want to scream, there is NO way I'm going to do it. Jillian michaels kind of scares me, but that's okay. I tried the Salsa dancing video, and I couldn't make my body do what theirs did.. like "follow me, step, step, crazy wiggling thing that involves like 20 steps all at once, step, step" so I kicked that one and I think it may have somehow become broken.. I can walk, and sometimes jog, and I can do pushups, but not situps (after 3 c-sections, that part doesn't really work so much..), and I can try to manage my diet... but I won't invest any money in anything that I haven't already proven my ability to do...

ps. I tried knitting tonight... it worked about as well as the salsa video ARGH!!!
 
Well, I'm not asking - I'm jumping in, also.
44 yrs old
200 lbs currently - 220 before Thanksgiving.
20 lbs lost.
Medication I am on - 1 Iron pill daily
100mcg Levothyroxin (Thyroid) daily

Weaned myself off of any kind of soda, koolade - manmade chemicals.
Weaned myself off of chocolate - I don't need the extra sugar.
I read ingredients - I try not to ingest any of the sugar sisters found in many foods.
I do not ingest any artificial sweetners, either. Truvia, Splenda are both on that no-no list.
The only dairy I use is butter/margarine for cooking, and a very small bit, for on a piece of toast or a small pancake that I have once in a while, with fruit topping, or honey.
I eat oatmeal with only fruit, crunchy granola, or nothing in it at all.
I eat more vegies and fruit than I used to.
I rarely eat any type of seafood, I do eat small amounts of beef, or pork, although, it's bird that I love to eat, except grilled

I don't eat processed meat.
I do like baked or boiled meat.
I have cut down on my usage of salt, as my left foot tattles on me.
I drink alot more water.

My trouble spots are fried foods, tea with artificial creamer and sugar.

I work at McD's - I have tried to eat their huge salads, but, I can't finish one in a half hour.
I won't eat a side salad, or, a Fruit and Walnut salad, they consider those meals.
So I eat something for a few days, then my stomach starts complaining, and I have to make switch.

My hardest 2 are my weakest 2: 1.) Hot tea with artificial creamer and sugar < I may not be able to buck this habit.
2.) Fried foods - fried meats, fried vegies, fried eggs - those are my Comfort Foods.

On nice days, I walk half way to work, and I do move around quite alot at work.
I do not like working out around anyone, so at home, the only time I get to work out, is if no one is home - hardly ever.

This should be a interesting journey into 2010!

Lord, I'm so ashamed lol. Didn't do great on calories today to begin with, then my boss and I went somewhere and stopped at Carl's Jr. Well, I didn't get a tiny burger or a small fry, I got a Big Carl Combo and hoovered up every crumb left in the bag. Well, there went today, but I'll do better tomorrow lol (and trust me, I'm going to be working my butt off later this evening.) Ah, I'm such a dork!
