Seriously. Many Japanese don't eat whale and dolphin. A lot of them consider it meat for elderly people, since they had no choice but to eat it when they were young. The gov't in Japan does not have to release information about mercury in the fish that is sold there, and a lot of dolphin meat is packaged as something else. People have done DNA testing on packaged fish and found dolphin labeled as something else. Mercury, like many other toxins, bio accumulates as you go up the food chain, so the larger top-of-the-food-chain fish have a much higher concentration of mercury than small lower level fish.
