April 2020 Hatch-A-Long! All are welcome!

I love mine too! My first birds came from a local farm and are great, but needed some new "not family" friends. I bought from Darrowby Ducks in Fenton, MI. I'll have a look for Quacky Acres. Thanks!

That stinks. When are your Myshire quail due to hatch? Hopefully they will go better.

I really don't like doing the shipped egg thing either at this point. They're the only option for getting some kinds unfortunately as we don'thabe a lot available around herd either.
They hatch on the 11th.

I don't think I'll buy shipped hatching eggs again that's for sure. I feel like I'm wasting my money when I do it.

I grew up in New England... The east coast is rough to get eggs. I have found a lot local though on Craigslist. I do not like shipped eggs. I got quail from am eBay seller and only 4 hatched out of 22 🙄 most were clears!
It really is. Unfortunately nobody local or within what I can drive with a toddler has quality birds or responded to me.

We have a baby! One of our broody cochin bantam mamas just hatched a beautiful little red cochin! Mom is black (with one red parent), and dad is red. :wee

It looks to be a textbook hatch, with the baby pipped and out in about 18 hours. :)

Just curious, how much are people selling day old chicks for? The 9 day olds I am selling are just barnyard mixes and straight run. I have a couple 2 week old chicks I would like to sell too. Do you think I should sell them for the same amount?
