I strongly disagree with this policy. Here's why:

When the BYC moderators are sworn in, as I understand it, they are taught to put their moral compass above all else. They feel a deep need to protect, and forcing them to stop will likely cause debilitating psychological issues.

With new moderator slots open, half the community will immediately pretend to be nice in order to grab said positions, so they may fulfill their power-hungry daydreams. Nobody wants that, other than those of questionable moral character!

I won't know who to PM when I want to complain about the website or my chickens' habits. Trying to figure out who the new mods are will really confuse me! :/

You have all made such a difference on BYC and I cannot thank you enough! You've protected people on threads, helped people in need of advice, welcomed people and overall have continued to make BYC a wonderful, safe and amazing site. It will be sad to not have you as moderators but I'm happy to see you "retiring" and moving froward. Thank you ALL for your outstanding help and service!

I see the points Two Crows and Princess Amri have made and I would agree with them somewhat. But you also must see that these people have worked for years to keep BYC running smoothly and that is NOT an easy job. They deserve a break. I strongly believe that Two Crows along with the other moderators will keep up the good work and do a fine job!
