What are the requirements for keeping a bird like that?.Can they be in sun? Im sure inside in winter.. Are they sterile? Normal in every other way? .Very dinasaur looking!!
Not sterile, yes completely normal in every other way.

Yes s/he will need some modifications, this is my first ever one, so I will be learning as I go. Not much extra care in the summer, but for sure in the winter and for sure if female some modifications to the male or maybe isolation from all males. Not sure yet on that one.

I think coconut oil would help with the moisture issue and bring his skin back to a healthy equilibrium while allowing it to acclimate.

I may try that b/c the reading I've done about the commercial raising of these (not much written on them on any level) said they (in the mass raised commercial setting) tend to skin infections and yeast infections of the skin. I do not see that as an issue in good husbandry conditions, but coconut oil would help anyway.

I know its not the same but I have raised
400
hairless rats and they can get skin issues. They recommend a weekly massage with olive oil.

I have 20 that hatched in the incubator, they started on Sunday and ended this morning with the last one. This was out of 33, I had two of them pip and then do nothing else, one had umbilical issues and I culled it. I candled this morning the last ten and 3 were virtually clear and the rest were late quitters. I only candled one time at 7 days and should have candled again at lock down and could have taken those out and not wasted the time on them.

in 5 days marshie's eggs are due to hatch! they should be hatching on the 29th, but with my experience with my breeder's eggs, they always seem to hatch 1-2 days early, so I have to have my broody coop set up my Saturday.

we are planning on setting it up today, so ill post a few pictures.

I HAD ONE QUESTION AS WELL...
once marshie's chicks hatch, do you think it would be okay (and safe) to add a few TSC ams or bantam specials? I mean I don't want to add and it wipes out my mama hen and the babies.....

When my first chicks hatched, well it didn't go as well as planned. 3 chicks out of two dozen. And I had a broody buff Orpington at the time, so when she took the three, I went to tsc and got six more chicks. She took them and now they are one big happy family and everybody is perfectly healthy

I just candled my 14 French wheaten marans and 12 were good and 2 were infertile It's day eight and looks like it's going to be another good hatch. I'm guessing 10 or 12 or the original 14 eggs. :woot
