APRIL Hatch a long ......Anyone?

Soon, my friend soon. Hoping for a great hatch for you. I am only on day two and I still look into the incubator like I am going to find something...LMAO. This is going to be a long 21 days.

I am on day 6 today. I went ahead and candled and WOW!! this might be my best batch of eggs to date. Out of 42 eggs- 2 blood rings and 2 questionables (they were darker than the rest and I couldn't see much). I kept one of the eggs with a blood ring in the incubator because it also had veining. It probably won't make it, but I'll give it a chance. I did disinfect my eggs with a bleach water and Dawn dish liquid mixture before putting them into the incubator this time. I might be doing that from now on, lol.

" and 2 questionables (they were darker than the rest and I couldn't see much)." I tossed 3 of these on my day 7 candle because I thought they might have been bacterial growth. Turns out that the air cell was detached and subsequent autopsy showed perfectly forming embryos.

my gosh have to go look at all the posts..this thread is moving along fast...

My update is my failed hatch now on day 23 .
4:30 am went to add water as long as i had waken up......now had 2 chicks out not one and at least 2 more pips....again this is day 23!!!
!Never say never..how they made it thru the stinky mold infested bator i dont know but i better buy pine shavings fast!

6:30 am....Storms about to come thru...fingers crossed for no outage. 4 pips..2 hatched...

Really bad winds and tornados missed us just heavy rain..another bad hit coming 5 pm ish. but no outages so far ....thanks for asking..but have 5 p ipped now day 23..Still 2 out but i know sometimes takes hours to get lungs and bodies ready for the ordeal of hatch but dont know why they are so late nor why the temp kept dropping on hatch day. maybe that retarded their progress.Also shocked the mold didnt kill them wish i could get the hatched ones out but still damp and hate to open with so many pipped..

SUB...you know how the neck reflex on a chick makes him peck the shell to get out?...Well my therory is its the brain reflex that makes us HAV E to go check the bator every 5 minutes...cant make myself stop!! Always this way..part of the addiction.


Everyones photos are so clear and good..mine are never that way..is everyone using their cell phone?Mine are either dark or a flash glare.

Here are my first 2...in my crumby pic Dumb camera.....One has a streak down its head...???mother is either lavender EE white EE from Light Brahma mother or pure Lav Amercauna hen???? Go figure. Other might be black but might be dark blue.
So far only one silky is zipping ....4 other doing nothing... but this hatch who knows.?
These little mutt EEs hatching like popcorn!!
