April Hatch Challenge....

Let's do a month long window, that will get in everything from chickens to turkeys, people who have already set and people about to set.

It'll be fun. I'd be interested to know if anyone else will be setting primarily pullet eggs for their runs. And whether that differs significantly from other rates.

Thanks for the idea Christopher.

I'd play but I've got Cornish in the incubator right now. I'm getting 99-100% on everything else, the Cornish about 50%...

I have 27 BLRWs, 4SLWs, 8 mixed marans due on April 1. 9 BCs due on april 2,,] 6 Blue wheaton ameracauns and 2 BCs due on april 4. 18 BLRWs, and 12 Blue wheaton ameracauns due on april 14

So whats the formulation for hatch rate percentage? This is how I figure it...

total number of eggs set (minus) total number infertile on day 14 = total number of developing eggs.

Total number of developing eggs (divided by) number that hatch = hatch rate

(there's a percentage calculation somewhere in there, but I can't explain how I do it... mostly cause I'm not that good at math.)

Any other suggestions?

25 due on April 1st- April Fool's!

No Really, they are due the first! Delaware Blue Hens and some BO/Cochin mixes, some EE/Cochin mixes and one little bantam Sebright/bantam Cochin.
