Yep, everyone loves the "gaminess" of both Josie and Egor--he's my black rumpless roo. I had to give him a wicked name because he's just so princely--(prissy)--I didn't want him to get a complex.

I'll try and post updated pics of them both. He's got some beautiful purple going for him, especially in the bright sun.

I took some new pics of Egor and Josie today--they're my dark Araucanas. I also have a couple of pics of Lefty. I was hoping to confirm that he's really a boy, but he wasn't cooperating. I hope someone can tell for sure--he hasn't crowed or tried to get the girls, but it could be because of the other roos.

I'm really hoping he's a boy! He's the only one I have left that has a tuft! and since he has a tail he may be able to do the deed a bit easier!

I'm jumping in here, hope that's OK. Interesting discussion! I'm learning a few things. I have a rumpless-tuftless roo, one tailed-2x tufted hen, and the rest of the girls are rumpless-0 tufts. I'm getting all rumpless chicks, mostly pullets, of those they are either 2x tufted or clean. I have one rumpless c'rel w/no tufts, a gorgeous silver duckwing. I've just been playing around with these, letting them breed at will. I finally hatched a double tufted rumpless c'rel, he's about 1/2 grown now.

So my ? is, if I wanted to show these eventually, I could show the nonstandard colors as AOV but they would have to carry at least one tuft, is this correct?

Oh, I'm also looking for a nice double tufted pullet, prefer rumpless, tailed if need be but the tufts have to be good. The length and fullness on mine are lacking so far.

High Roost Ranch, good luck on your search for a pullet matching your description. Everyone seems to want to hold on to those rare hens. I know I do as it is so hard to hatch them out. Others may have much better luck and can sell you a nice pullet.

I don't show either so I can't help out with those questions.

Hooterville, Lefty appears to be a male to me, looks like he has some bleed through of red..May be a dominate white, but i know red is also known to leak in recessive as well. Which we have both genes here in the white..
