Around my house there are lots of crows, flying in groups or alone, making loud noises. The chickens don’t like them and once when a group of crows flew by I found all my chickens in corner of the coop. When they are free ranging and a crow pirches on a telephone wire, the rooster warns them.

But the real question.. will crows hurt them? And if they do/did, could a chicken defend itself or the others?

Crows are usually not powerful enough, or lack the intent to go after chickens. They might go after the less agile bantams and chicks. Other than that, they might steal feed and mess with the chickens (not enough to cause much harm at least)

I love the crows by my house! They have never bothered my chickens and will occasionally chase off hawks if they are in a big enough group :thumbsup

There was another thread about this... long story short, crows will chase off hawks. A crow wouldn't likely attack a chicken, but I wouldn't put it past them to snatch up a chick.
X2.... they can be beneficial, but "could" be a hazard to very small birds

A murder of ravens could probably mess up a chicken if they wanted to. Though I doubt crows would do anything.

If it was me, I’d bring them food etc and make them adjusted to being fed by me so they could keep away the real killers like owls, eagles and hawks. They are extremely smart and Won’t stand for predators in thier territory.
