Veggies don't provide protein. It's seeds, grains, and soy that make up the bulk of vegan protein intakes. Soy allergies are on the rise. And it's still better for the environment to consume home grown meat than it is to eat plants that were grown conventionally, many hundreds of miles away. Plus, not everybody lives where there is a grocery store right down the road.
that's false. broccoli and other vegetables have more than enough protein. i know it's hard to accept that you are harming animals and i'm sure you will understand once you acquire enough information

i actually throw up when i eat vegetables, and i love my meat.... i really dont think that there is any need for sarcasm either, this was supposed to be an open, non-judgemental topic area. and yes it is a lot cheaper to process your own animals than to go out and buy all organic, i also raise Boer goats(meat goats) and show them. Just cause i do, doesnt make it wrong. I adore all my animals, regardless of what they are and treat them all with respect, and care for them all equally
i'm sure your animals love you greatly and it's a great betrayal that you would cut their lives short for the sake of a tasty snack you don't really need

Cause its not like your cutting plants lifes short or anythings when they are processed for packaging, and all those fumes and pollution put in the air when processing and packaging those veggies and tofu is totally helping with global warming

if you're worried about global warming then cutting out meat farming/consumption is one of the best things you can do. i guarantee you that no plant feels anything like love or suffering as far as science knows. if we some day find out that they do suffer in the same way that chickens do then we would be obligated to consider other ways of survival

@birdofhermes I'm allergic to corn, soy, all preservatives that are in most products, Nitrates (what they use to cure pork) all veggies that are not raised organically, so we raise almost all our own meat, whether that be hunting or raising... And also we grow a lot of our own food.

There is nothing wrong with it! and my health is extremely sensitive so for me to be able ti stay healthy I have to.

I've done a ton of research, thank you very much. I have done my homework, and have reached my conclusion. Yes it is possible to fulfill dietary needs of an adult with plants. But I've got special needs children to take into consideration, I've got a budget to take into consideration, and I've got to weigh the pros and cons of it all. I am confident that I have made the right choice for me and my family.
Try to be a bit more open minded and less judgemental. Just because something is not the right choice for you, does not mean it's wrong for everybody.
Even growing broccoli does some harm to some animals somewhere. Something lost it's home when the field was tilled, countless number of critters were killed by the machines that are used in modern day farming. Even organic pesticides can harm wildlife. Organic fertilizers utilize the bones and blood of deceased animals. Everything on this planet revolves around a constant dance of life and death, you are not the exception.

the whole point of a meat animal is to be eaten, no one ever said it had to be fun killing animals, and it those people who find it amusing to kill and cruelly treat animals that are wrong. the more plants that are grown, the better off we will be, and there will never be a stop to processing animals, people evolved to eat both meat and plants, there is no stopping that way of life, so i dont worry about what my neighbor or online person thinks, i know i will never be able to stop eating meat, and i will continue to do so, nothing you say can change me or the hundreds to thousands of people to do so.
