Are these wood shavings safe?

I found a source for wood shavings by the truck load. They are mostly elm and some hackberry. Are these woods safe to use for the coop? The only wood I know for sure that many say not to use are certain cedar woods. Is there a list of what woods are safe and what aren't?

Elm and hackberry are both on the lists of wood that are safe to use for parrot perches, but here's the thing. Elm trees are frequently sprayed with pesticides to control disease, and you'ld have no way of knowing about that.
