Wait. She should not go more then I think two hours between kittens. You may not notice the after birth, since she may eat it up right away. Make sure she is licking the kitten, and it should try to nurse soon.

Just personally, I would not cut the cord on the rest of them, unless she does not do it after quite awhile. It is the same as with baby chicks if they are hatched to early. The kitten's blood is in the cord and the mom will chew threw it when she is ready. The chewing of her teeth clamp it off. The placenta is attatched to the cord and it should stay attatched, I think it helps the placenta come out. JMO.

I never help unless it is VERY obvious she needs it. We have had tons of litters, and only helped one kitten. I agree, in this case she probably needed it, especially if she was young. But generally the more you stay out of it the better.

the kittens are being born sans the sack.
Warm and Fuzzy , this cat needs the help she is malnourished for starters, she is most likely too weak to bring these kittens in on her own , she is going to need all te help she can get at this point.
I have been here just once too often.

How is she doing?

Okay heater is in the bathroom to keep it warm. She is licking the kittens but the second one is still attached. She is making a horrible meow like I have never heard before. Where the %^$^ is my vet? I think it may be time for a new one.

But if it is like women, pulling on the placenta could cause more bleeding couldnt it? But if it is already there, at the birth canal, then that is different.

It might be the labor but it might be something else.
how hard is her tummy , can you feel the contractions? what does her personal area look like, it should be a little tinged with blood bt not an excessiva amount.

ugh I am typing too darn fast I will go back later and clean up the spelling errors,
If the kitten is out and the umbilical is still attached in a few minutes you are going to have to cut it if the mother isnt doing it,

I think Your right you need a new vet , is there an emergency clinic any where close?
