Arizona Chickens

post photos and we will help figure it out.
I have posted pics in other threads and most say all 4 are pullets. The one I was most concerned about was my PR/RIR because it's tail feathers are wonky. Based on the way their tail feathers are developing I'm pretty sure the other 3 are definitely pullets. All but the RIR have the stiff rounded hen like tail feathers. I've been told my EE's coloring is typical of female, my Welsummer has a salmon chest so I assume she's female too and I have a BSL who didn't have a white spot on her head as a chick so I've never had much doubt that she was a female. The fact that none of them really have a comb yet at 3 months makes me feel pretty good in assuming they're all pullets too. I'm always wanting to have people reassure me though so I'll post some pics.

Phillie, my PR/RIR, she's the one I'm the most unsure of but looking at pics of 3 mo. old RIR roos I'd say her comb is too small to be a roo. She's a bit special. She isn't very pretty compared to the other girls. She's been slow to grow, her feathers are weird, she always gets left behind by the others, and she very very rarely makes a sound while all the others honk like crazy geese.

Ely looks like she has a very small pea comb. sorry for my hand in the way, needed to lure her with worms to get a close up.

Headshot of Phillie the RIR

The folks in another thread asked to see saddle and hackle feather pics of Phillie to help confirm so these were the ones I posted.

Tea our Welsummer, She has female coloring so unless she molts like crazy and replaces all her salmon chest feathers with dark ones I'm going to assume she'll stay female

I have new pictures of the young ones. Come to find out our friend can't keep them so she decided to give them to us for all the work we have done for them. I will post pics later. I think I know what they are but would like to get confirmation from my local byc peeps.

why no boyscouts for your kids? I am a girlscout leader going on 4 years with this troop. my 7 year old son also wants to do boyscouts, but we let him play baseball instead. the den leaders for his age were dopes.

Age 7 cub scouts is the Tiger Cubs. YOU, all the parents, are the leader at that age.

A friend of mine in NW Tucson (near Ina/Oracle) has approximately 50 lbs of buggy white rice he is going to toss out if no one wants it. PM me if you are interested and I'll put you in touch with each other. He says it has "itty bitty dark beetles rather than "pantry moths.""

Quote: Depends more on what grade he is in than his age, and while the parents are the leaders of Tiger Cubs, they tend to work as a group, not separate families, so if the overall group leaders aren't good ones, then the experience is a waste of time. I will say that there is no reason that you are tied to a specific pack, Finding a different pack might be the solution.
