Welcome to the AZ thread! :frow

Hey everyone...My boys are back on the market. The people who were supposed to buy the boys never came for them. I am moving into Lady kotadoria's place the first week in June and they cannot come with me :(. I am asking here, arizona backyard farmers (FB) and arizona silkies (FB) if anyone would like to buy them.

Barbarino is a Blue Silkie and Vincenzo is a Splash Silkie. They are brothers and hatched June 1, 2013. They come from Sleepy Hollow Farm in Virginia. Pastrymama hatched them at her house. I got them as three day old chicks.

Lorenzo is a Black Copper Marans who was hatched on September 21, 2013 at my house. He ended up the only one to hatch from 8 eggs. I got the eggs from Christie Davis from FB. She got them from a breeder but I do not know who.

I am asking $20.00 each for them.

How often do your quail lay? That is so cool that you have them..
They are only 5 weeks old today so no eggs yet but I did hear one of the boys crow three days ago! Corturnix grow up fast! I'm really enjoying having them. They are super calm, friendly and make cute noises. Even the crowing is pretty quiet and sounds like it could be made by the wild birds in the neighborhood. Their most common sound is just like chirping crickets.

Have you had the eggs before? Are they similar in taste to chicken eggs?

Ok so today we went to the spring expo at arizona feeds here in Tucson. They had silkies chicks so I had to get three and now my husband has got the bug as he picked out three barred Cochin chicks too. So now we have EE, blue; black and buff Ameraucanas, 1 Ancona, 1 RIR, NN, Silkies, crested, 3 barred cochin and 2 that I have no idea what they are...plus the Alohas are coming soon. :) gotta love chicken addiction! !
